Ihram is entering the worship of Hajj or Umrah and engaging in its actions with intent, making it forbidden for a person what was previously permissible such as: a man wearing stitched clothing, cutting hair or nails for men and women, or using perfumes. For Ihram, there is a specific attire for men: a garment covering the lower body and a garment covering the upper body. As for women, they may wear whatever they wish of the Shariah-compliant dress that meets legal standards. Thus, Ihram has special aspects that symbolize renouncing worldly pleasures and turning to Allah with sincerity in worship. With Ihram, a Muslim begins the first pillars of Hajj and Umrah. It is the first step in their spiritual journey, and upon entering Ihram, one must refrain from all Ihram prohibitions, in addition to stating the intention as follows: ● Whoever intends to perform Hajj says: (Labbaik Hajjan). ● Whoever intends to perform Umrah says: (Labbaik Umratan). ● Whoever intends to perform both Hajj and Umrah says: (Labbaik Umratan wa Hajjan). Then the Talbiyah begins afterwards, saying: (Labbaik Allahumma Labbaik, Labbaik La Sharika Laka Labbaik, Inna Al-Hamd Wan-Ni’mata Laka wal-Mulk, La Sharika Lak).
