Tawaf is a pillar of Hajj and Umrah, involving circumambulation around the Kaaba in worship and drawing closer to Allah. The pilgrim or Umrah performer starts their Tawaf from the position of the Black Stone, and at this point, usually exclaims Takbir at the beginning of each new circuit. One points by hand to the Black Stone, then begins their Tawaf with the Kaaba on their left (counterclockwise), and if able to kiss the Black Stone, one has performed a Sunnah, but if not, there is no problem. It is preferred for the pilgrim or Umrah performer to make plentiful supplications to Allah and implore Him, and it is also preferred to reach the corner preceding the Black Stone, called: (the Yemeni Corner) and touch it if possible repeating this in all seven circuits of Tawaf.
